Vintage Pen Restoration
Our founder Matt started restoring vintage fountain pens years ago as a way to learn more about them and to affordably add them to his personal pen collection (he is a HUGE Parker fan, by the way). Unexpectedly, it became a much-needed escape from the stressors of his full-time job, and he soon found peace and tranquility in the process. It wasn’t long until his family and friends suggested he start what some call a “side hustle” to make a bit of extra pen purchasing money, while doing something he loved. In just a year, he was able to establish the business and successfully build a list of clients that continues to grow to this day. Although he doesn’t have as much time on his hands as he used to, he still enjoys helping people preserve their vintage pens.
If your pen is leaking ink, broken, missing a part, or has nearly any other issue, we can almost always perform a repair, or if needed, a complete restoration. We have an extensive network of vintage fountain pen part retailers, so if it is a replacement part you need, we will do our best to source it. For more simple repairs, we keep a stock of latex sacs, diaphragms, and common parts on hand.
*We will always inform you if we are unable to find a replacement part, if your pen may be too fragile to risk repair, or the cost to repair is significantly higher than the value of the pen.
Fountain Pen Restoration
Unveil your pens original beauty with a complete refinishing service. Great care is taken and multiple steps occur to deep clean, deoxidize, remove surface scratches, polish, shine, and protect your pen. When you get it back, you’ll be guaranteed to fall in love with it all over again.
Below are before and after pictures of an Ebonite Cartier Diablo Fountain Pen, circa 2000s, that spent 13 years in the salty, humid environment of Hawaii. The pitting and oxidation were deep within the ebonite, but after some love, it looked as good as new!
